My name is Alejandro Areces and as a young boy I always had an admiration for art & design. From drawing on a on a sheet of paper to drooling over artist like the great Italian Renaissance painter Leonardo Da Vinci and action style painter Jackson Pollock to the modern / digital style branding design like Chip Kidd (Jurassic Park logo) and Carolyn Davidson (Nike logo).
Since graduating with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Broward College I have been fortunate to have been published in two separate books, Go!Design Now and the 2014 September/October issue of Cigar Snob magazine. I’ve also been blessed to have worked with a variety of breweries, companies, and athletes: Flagler Village Brewery, Brass Tap, GoDataFeed, Keller Williams & Cigar Snob. When I’m not drawing or designing, I enjoy playing video games, reading comics, going on jogs with my dog and yelling at the tv about my favorite sports teams.
My design process begins by having a brief Q&A with the client, helping sketch a series of logo & notes, allowing me to get a solid grasp for what they are looking to achieve. This process not only gives me a better understanding for what the client wants but also helps reassure them that the finished product will net in a more impactful and lasting results.
Being able to design, whether it be updating a companies identity or bringing something new and exciting to life is one of the best jobs in the world. They say 'If you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life'. While I am fortunate and grateful for the jobs I've had, which has allowed me to meet amazing people and make long lasting connections, there are still some dream jobs I need to knock off my bucket list.
